Wishaw
Wishaw junior member Sam Easterbrook served further notice of his potential as he carded the best score in his division in two separate club competitions over the same weekend.
The teenager beat the course by two to win the Extra Bogey Comp from David Franklin, just 24 hours after losing on countback to Stephen Hollis in the January Extra Stableford, despite smashing eight gross birdies on his way to 43 points.
Jason Allen (46 points) fired the leading round of 46 points in the Stableford, while another in-form golfer Frankie Meszaros took the second division plaudits in the Bogey competition after beating the course by six holes.

Bramcote Waters
Three points was the margin of success for Donna Hughes in the Bramcote Waters Ladies January Medal as she held off the challenge of Sara Britain and Debbie Kendall after positing 29 points.

Harborne Church Farm
Graham Smith was in devastating form in the January Medal at Harborne Church Farm as he carded an eagle two on the sixth hole, before shooting three consecutive birdies from the 11th in a winning round of net 60.
The four-handicapper finished three clear of Joe Langan, who compiled a strong back nine to hold off the challenge of Terry Collins, James Compton and Sean McCluster (all net 64).

Hatchford Brook
Paul Busby was the only player to match his handicap in the first 18-hole Hatchford Brook Stableford of the year as he won the top division of the January competition by one from Andy Podmore after shooting 36 points.
Mark Marcell (35) and Mark Birkinshaw (33), who finished runner-up to Steve Garfield in a nine-hole stableford a week earlier, led the scoring in the second and third sections respectively.

Oakridge
One birdie and nine pars were on the winning 12-hole scorecard of Steve Mace in the third round of the SOGS Winter League Singles at Oakridge as the nine-handicapper secured the plaudits.
Adrian Jervis (27) finished runner-up by one from Roger Stain, who carded a magnificent eagle two on the fourth hole.

Pype Hayes
James Regan’s numbers came up in the Lottery Stableford as the 16-handicapper compiled a superb winning total of 44 points in the Shaggies mid-week competition at Pype Hayes.
Three birdies, including a couple of twos on short holes, were on his scorecard as he finished seven clear of Bob Walmsley, Robert Cruise and Stephen Bennett.

Shirley
High-handicapper Neil Mullett came out on top in the January Yellow Tee Stableford at Shirley as his tally of 40 points lifted him three clear of runner-up Steven Fields.

Stoneleigh Deer Park
Keith James wasted little time in bagging his first victory in 2020 at Stoneleigh Deer Park as the 13-handicapper won the January Stags Stableford with a tally of 40 points. Derek Grover (39) secured the runners-up position by one from Mick Brown and Alan Brushett.

Warwick
Lee Such overcame a slow start to clinch the top prize in the first competition of the year at Warwick as he beat Rob Buckingham by a single point in the nine-hole January Stableford.

The Welcombe
Forty six points was an excellent winning score in the third round of the Winter Pairs event at The Welcombe as Andy Rigg and Kevin Shearsby bagged the plaudits.
With 34 pairs taking part in the first competition of the year, Jon Brant and Matt Gill were runners-up on countback from Chris Caswell and Stuart Summers on 43 points.

Whitefields
Back-to-back birdies on the 11th and 12th holes helped Gareth Jones (net 71) lift the New Year Trophy by one from Andrew Gall, Nicholas Mills and Michael Burnett, who carded an eagle two on the fourth hole.

Windmill Village
In-form Kevin Arnold bagged his first victory of the year at Windmill Village after three runners-up finishes in 2020 as a total of 44 points edged him one ahead of Colin Good and Eric Sellence in the latest Winter Stableford Qualifier.
The 12-handicapper was beaten by Simon Thompson on New Year’s Day, before Dayle Latchford and Rob Brassington won the first two mixed competitions from Arnold on consecutive days on the first weekend of the year.
