Stoneleigh Deer Park
Five gross pars helped William Curtis take the plaudits in the Winter Stableford at Stoneleigh Deer Park as his tally of 44 points pushed him two clear of Gavin Bottrell, with Neville Gardner a further two back in third spot. Sandra Curtis won the ladies competition.
Whitefields
Birdies on both par fives helped Scott Burrows secure the top prize in the Mixed Medley Stableford at Whitefields as he came in with the leading score of 36 points.
Richard Hadley’s run of eight pars in the last nine holes proved decisive in the battle for second as he nudged a single point ahead of Carolyn Coxon, Simon Pearson, Jon Harrison and William McIntyre (all 34).
Leamington & County
High-handicapper Judith Coote produced some inspirational golf with a smaller bag over 15 holes at Leamington & County as she grabbed the honours in the 5-Club event with 26 points. Sarah Bush and Philippa Wilson led the scoring in the other two sections with 24 apiece, while Christine Edgecombe won the nine-hole competition
Harborne Church Farm
Two birdies on the back nine helped John McCann clinch first place in the January Stableford as the 17-handicapper’s score of 37 points nudged him one clear of Graham Smith and Paul Podmore.
Hatchford Brook
Neil Stone’s 38 points led the way in the January Saturday Stableford at Hatchford Brook as he finished one ahead of fellow mid-handicapper Stephen Field. Craig Watts (35) won the top category, while Brad Harber and Mitchell Trumpeter had the joint best round of 36 points in the high-handicap section.
North Warwickshire
Graham Mather birdied the second hole on both loops of nine at North Warwickshire in the Exclusives January Stableford as he secured a three-point victory from David Edwards and Malcolm Pearson (both 35).
Oakridge
John Paton, Robin Taylor, Kevin Evans and Mike Cubitt were the team to beat in the Joint Vice-Captains Competition at Oakridge as a score of net 56.4 earned the quartet a comfortable win from Kevin Curtis, Ryan Brogan, Jeff Peasland and Jon Blake (57.8).
Windmill Village
The latest two Winter Stablefords at Windmill Village witnessed some excellent scores as Ben Cooper won the Saturday prize with 47 points, while Adrian Gant’s tally of 48 edged him one in front of Rob Brassington 24 hours later.
Wishaw
Michael Halloran enjoyed the opportunity to take on the course at Wishaw in the January Mid-week Bogey Competition as she finished eight up after 18 holes.
Clive Conroy (five up) finished runner-up by one from Matthew Northcott and David Meakin.
The Henley
Rob Brennan scored on every hole in the January Stableford at The Henley as a total of 38 points secured a narrow win from Paul Fisher and Eddie Hodgkiss (both 37).
Pype Hayes
Marilyn Graham and Christine Drayton were successful in the two Ladies Three Clubs & Putter Competitions at Pype Hayes.
