Reynolds becomes new Warwickshire Golf President

Mark Reynolds says it is a huge privilege to take on the role of President of Warwickshire Union of Golf Clubs until March 2022.
With Graham Barton completing his term as President after two enjoyable years, Reynolds was voted into the position at the County AGM at Copt Heath GC on Thursday, March 12th, 2020.
He said: “I have a tough act to follow in Graham, who was a consistent and popular presence at all county events and matches over the last two seasons. But I’m looking forward to everything, it’s a huge privilege. Thank you.”
The handover at the AGM took place after Warwickshire Union of Golf Clubs gave the attending Clubs more information about the current status of county golf and the new initiatives they are putting together to help grow the game.
Team Management and Player Development Chairman Nev Gardner explained how the County Men’s, Boys and Seniors teams had performed in 2019, before outlining the future plans and projects, including providing a refreshed coaching programme.
The County are placing an increased emphasis on developing the next generation of club members, including setting up a new Junior Order of Merit for boys and girls of all ages and abilities.
Operations Director Matt Nixon offered an overview of what the County are trying to achieve with regard to communicating better with all the Clubs, while John Duncombe offered an update on the workings of England Golf.
With Robin Brennan explaining the accounts for the last 12 months, a first increase in five years for the county affiliation fee, up to £9.50, was approved for 2021.
Chris Staite was confirmed as the new Men’s Second Team Captain, while youngsters Adam Perks, Seb Cave and Ryan Gavin took over as the Boys Under-18’s, Under-16’s and Under-14’s Captains respectively.
